Hello and welcome to FastTrack by PreTrain!

I am Hamish Withington. I’m a qualified train driver and train driver trainer – I'm still actively driving trains as well as training and assessing new drivers as a paid professional train driver even now, after over 16 years of experience since I first qualified as a driver.

I am the creator of this program and I will also be your trainer throughout this series of lessons on becoming a trainee train driver here in Australia.

In addition to RailReady - where I help people understand what the job of driving trains is really like - both sides of the job, I have now gone on and created FastTrack.

This is where I help you cut through the mystery of "how" to find created this program to help people;

• Understand how to find train driving traineeships
• How to prepare to apply for them - including resume & cover letter advice
• How to navigate the the application, selection, recruitment & onboarding process - including explanation on and preparation for selection centres
• Including a preparation for the Rail Safety Critical category 1 medical assessment, psychometric testing, mechanical reasoning assessment and more
• Diversity & inclusion, alcohol & drugs in the rail industry, zero harm concepts, reference checks, what to do if you're not successful the first time, and more.
• And then there'll be a multiple choice quiz to see if you've understood the information correctly.
